Sorry this is late. ^^; It was my last chance to see JT before she left for school.

Anywho, I thought you’d all give me the answers I got. The lot of you who replied to my query said that the only reason he considered sparing her was because Snape begged him to. I don’t like that answer though.

I suppose if I hear it from Queen Rowling myself I’ll be forced to accept that answer, but it just really doesn’t feel like Voldemort’s MO. He doesn’t give two shits about his followers unless they can do something for him. I guess maybe because Snape gave him the ‘valuable’ half-information about Harry, that he considered it at all, if that really is going to be the official answer. But I just can’t see Voldemort being like ‘okay, you begged for it, I can give you that.’ I feel like he’d just say he would, and then just laugh about it later. Mock him. And in the he’d he killed her anyway. And to me, that makes me feel even more like nape’s begging didn’t really do much anyway. I feel like there’s a deeper reason.

Huh.

But I did like this. Asking you guys questions for once was quite fun. I don’t see myself as some kind of Harry Potter guru. I just love analyzing books, and Potter is my favourite series, so I know things about it, or think about things that other people might not have thought of.

Thank you for this. :) It was awesome.

Maybe to keep the blog running, I’ll do this more often if no one has an objection to it.

Later kids! ^_^

Hey guys. :) I have a question for all of you for once. ^^ Now, mind you, I haven’t had the chance to talk to Simon about this yet, and I can assure you that I may have missed it. So feel free to call me a dumbass if it’s completely obvious.

Does anyone know why Voldy was going to spare Lily in the first place? Because when I think of the Voldy I know, he would just kill anyone who was there, anyone who was in the way. Harry even says that when he retaliated against Lupin when Lupin got exasperated with Harry for disarming Stan instead of stunning him.

When you read the chapter in DH after Harry and Hermione make their escape from Gordic’s Hollow, and Voldemort is recounting the last time that Harry escaped from him there,  after he kills James, as he’s walking up the stairs he says that there is no need for Lily to die. That she can be spared if she just gets out of the way.

But why? Why not just kill her? What’s the point of him even considering the sparing of her life? I know in the end he just does it anyway because be becomes impatient and annoyed, but what was the point of giving her an option in the first place?

I personally think that maybe there was a part of him that admired the fact that she was willing to die for her son while his own mother did absolutely nothing to stay alive for him, but then I think this is Voldemort we’re talking about. He admired himself first and foremost. Or maybe I’m right, I dunno.

Put your own thoughts in my ask or reblog this with your own answers. :) I’d love to see what you guys think.

I’m currently on a piece of shit tablet (took me fucking forever to type this out) so when I get on a computer later today I’ll look at your answers and stuff. It’s too hard to maneuver (thats how you spell that?) anything on this.

Later kids!

ϟ: Hi do happen to know where I can find a clip of J.K Rowling's Olympic apperance?

I’ve actually been looking for that myself. If anyone knows where to find, please let us know! :)

ϟ: So there's a post going around about how the boy who played Albus Severus played baby Harry in the first movie... Could you officially debunk this or something so that people stop being so damn stupid? It's like the whole Nagini/boa constrictor business all over again.

Also a lie. God I’m so glad other people find this as annoying as I do. ^^;

Baby Harry was played by the Saunders triplets (I’ve never found out their first names), and Albus Severus was played by Arthur Bowen.

It pays a lot to stay for the credits after the film’s finished. >.>;

ϟ: Has it ever been confirmed that the boa constrictor Harry frees in PS is Nagini? I keep hearing about this and I'm pretty uncertain myself.

It’s a lie. I addressed this in a waaayyy earlier post. I think I said something along the lines of ‘people being so desperate to be the next person who makes a genius discovery regarding the Harry Potter universe that they make things up without actually giving proof’.

Lol. I find it extremely annoying.

Just do what I do. Reblog those posts and demand a source, and demand that if people are going to post head-canons, that they should make it clear that it’s a head-canon.

To be honest, it has eased up.

^^

I like snakes a lot, and I’m pretty sure Nagini is a Viper, not a Boa. Also, that snake that Harry released is a male. Nagini is obviously female. I think it’s also worth mentioning that Boa Constrictors aren’t poisonous (as far as I know).

ϟ: You're such a Gryffindor, your response to the 'what do you think of dark mark tattoos' made me cringe. I'd personally love to get one, for the evil sadism and the ambition it represents. It represents one of the most powerful wizards to have ever lived. I don't agree with killing because of blood purity (that's just racism in a different setting), but having the power to kill over and over without feeling. That's a heck of a skill, one I want to emulate. Plus dark marks are fit.

Lol, ‘you’re such a Gryffindor’. I guess.

I don’t care how powerful he was. I don’t agree with murder, torture, and slavery. Jesus no. :| It makes me cringe that you want the power to be able to kill people without feeling remorse. That if you could pull all of those things off without feeling bad about it, you would, and you’d love yourself and consider it an achievement. :| :|

You a Kira supporter as well?

I will agree with you however that the Dark Mark looks cool. It’s a cool design on JKR’s part.

ϟ: I've actually considered getting a dark mark tattoo. Clearly I'm not speaking for anyone who has one, but with me, it was all about Snape and how he changed. He still had the mark, but he was not a Death Eater. I felt like, in the frame of Snape, it kind of represented changing for the better. idk

Well good. That’s a good explanation. My eyes aren’t bugging and I don’t feel contaminated as I read it.

I can accept that. :)

I just jump to conclusions and feel like people are getting it because they don’t fully understand, or sugarcoat the actual meaning of them.

But yours was neither. Good, good. :)

ϟ: what do you think about people getting darkmark tattoos? that freaks me out. D:

Oh man. I was just talking about this with my nan the other day. Those people freak me the fuck out. :| You ever read or watched Death Note? Kira supporters freak me the fuck out as well.

I feel like it’s the equivalent of getting a swastika tatted on yourself. :/ It’s weird, and it makes me raise an eyebrow.

Edit. I should have mentioned what version of the Swastika I was referencing as it could have offended a ton of people. I’m sorry. I was referencing the most recognizable version that is associated with the Nazis.

I mean, I get it, they want a tattoo to represent the book series that has changed their lives. A Muggle’s version of everlasting ink that they can show off and be proud of.

It’s just that, the Dark Mark is a symbol for people who think it’s okay to practise Dark Magic, who think it’s okay to torture and murder Muggles, tell their kids to bully anyone who has less than pureblooded lineage. These people are pro slavery and genocide. Ultimately, it’s for the Death Eaters, people in Voldemort’s army, who are in short, wizard Nazis. :/

Why would you want something that represents all of those things tatted on yourself?

How do you guys explain them to people? Like, if I didn’t know what Harry Potter was, and I saw someone with a Dark Mark tattoo and asked them to explain it to me, they’d tell me it’s from Harry Potter, and what it means in Harry Potter. I’d sit there staring at them ‘and you wanted to represent these Death Eaters because…?’

Why wouldn’t you get something that doesn’t represent all of that bad shit if you wanted to display your love for Potter?

And maybe I’m just taking it way too seriously, but I just feel like the entire point of writing the books as realistically as possible, and doing so using real-life parallels, is so that when you read it, you can imagine this as it were happening to you and the people around you.

I dunno. I dunno. It’s fucking weird.

ϟ: What do you think of Ron being side-kicked in the movies?

I hate it. I hate it a whole bunch. I hate it even more when supposed fans of the series go off on Ron as though Harry could have done without him. Like Ron is just some stupid kid that got lucky to be friends with the famous Harry Potter.

First of all, how anyone can say that Ron is stupid is beyond me. Have you ever met a stupid person who was really good at chess? No. He even beats Hermione at it. Multiple times. I imagine now that they’re older and married, that they sometimes just sit down playing chess, with Ron still beating Hermione.

I also don’t understand how people can say Ron is stupid, when, if you look back on the books, Ron gives a lot of information to Harry and Hermione about what his parents and brothers have told him about the Ministry and the Wizarding World in general. Don’t say ‘well he’s a pureblood, of course he knows a lot about it. That doesn’t mean he’s smart.’ Yes, but I know too many people who can barely locate themselves on a map. People who have lived in their country since birth, and can’t name all of the states, provinces, regions. My own brother (who is a monumental dumbfuck) failed English four times. Four. How the fuck do you fail your own language? Four. Times. :|

Just because he’s not as quick-thinking as Harry is, or he’s not a walking Google like Hermione, doesn’t mean he’s stupid.

I feel like people think ‘stupid’ and ‘childish’ are synonymous. While people certainly act stupid when they’re being childish, it does not mean that they are completely and inherently dumb.

Not to mention, he’s a good person even if he’s sometimes snarky. I’m a good person, and I am terribly, terribly snarky, as anons have allowed me to prove. When Malfoy calls Hermione a Mudblood, he explains to them why it’s a racial slur, and says it’s a disgusting (italics and all) thing to call someone. When the Death Eaters at the World Cup are suspending the Muggles making them spin, using the children as well, he just goes ‘that’s sick. That is really sick.’ He’s disgusted, because he’s not a motherfucking asshole.

And this business that Harry and Hermione could have done without him. It makes me sick. I know people get on my case about being one of those arrogant Potter fans, but it’s hard not to be when people want to make arguments for things they don’t know anything about, from only watching the films, or the people who’ve been reading this series from childhood to adulthood, still cannot understand what it is they are reading. If anyone’s stupid, it’s those people.

They don’t need him? Kindly go back and read all seven books, and try to imagine if Ron had not been there. Whether it be for emotional support, platonic support, informational support, or general (and quite genuine) loyalty. How can you even say that? Harry needs Ron as much as Ron needs him. it’s just circumstances that makes one seem greater than the other. Even Harry says it to himself when he was having a minor, silent tantrum about not getting a Prefect badge. Ron is basically just like Harry. They get all the same grades and such. It’s just circumstances that has allowed Harry to shine more. I’m sure if it were Ron who had to fight the most evil dark wizard of all time, he would be just like Harry. He knows what’s right and what’s wrong, and he has a great need to protect the people he loves and cares about. The only tiny difference is that Harry is a little better at thinking quickly, and…actually I was going to say that Ron would blunder through any of the things that Harry had to do, but Harry blundered through them too. Just because it’s not the exact same kind of mistake, doesn’t mean that they both aren’t blundering, and need a lot of help.

Did you not learn anything? Voldemort had no friends, and look where he ended up.

Sorry if this sounds like I’m accusing you or yelling at you. As always, I come off sounding like a dick when I don’t mean to be, and I need to make it clear. ^^;

Thanks for the question. :)

ϟ: what is your favorite scene in the books?

Oh! A question! Thank you. ^^I miss these terribly.

Actually, this is funny, because I’m having a rough time right now, and the best place to go to is the world of Harry Potter to make me feel better. I’ve just finished the fifth book. ^^

I have to say though, that my favourite scene lies nowhere in the fifth novel. I’m 99% sure that my all time favourite scene would have to be in Goblet of Fire when Harry is coming back from figuring out the clue in the egg. It’s so jokes. I always feel the same apprehension every time I read it. I always laugh my ass off. I always feel like I need to put the book down after I’ve finished reading it, because I need to let the scene sit in my head .

Harry’s going “fuck fuck fuck”

Filch is going “fucking student’s, fucking students”

Snape is going “FUCKING POTTER! Fuck him, and his father before him! Fuck fuck! Fucking POTTER!”

and Moody’s going “Fuck. Almost caught. Oh, nice, Potter. But still. Fuck that was close”

That’s the best scene. ^^
